A passionate tree-hugger willing to sacrifice everything to save the redwoods is at odds with her sister about the importance of her priorities. Mother Tree, a short dramatic play, illuminates the choices and sacrifices made on individual/personal levels versus community/collective/global levels. Through an uncovering of how past familial dynamics and trauma influence current life decisions, the sisters’ strong bond becomes challenged.
Mother Tree was a finalist last year in the Hudson Valley Playwriting competition judged by Paula Vogel.
