ABOUT

 

Nelia McNicol (b. Australia) is an actress, dancer and producer based in New York City. Molding art forms, fusing her work as an actress, dancer and visionary cultivates her dynamic and nuanced work.

 

She earned her B.F.A in Dance at Joffrey Ballet School under artistic direction of Angelica Stiskin and is trained in the Susan Batson method and Meisner technique, under private instruction of Lil Malinich. Nelia has performed works by renowned choreographers, including Akira Uchida, Gabrielle Lamb, & Billy Griffin. She has starred in stage plays, Laundry and Bourbon and Mother Tree, performed at off-broadway and off-off-broadway theaters in NYC. ​​​​​​

Her one-woman show, They Called Me Rita made its sold-out world premiere at the United Solo Festival in Fall 2023. The play was a dream collaboration between four female creatives, built from the ground up and was produced under Verve Productions.

Currently, Nelia is producing and starring in MERCURY, a play by Jayson McDonald and directed by Lil Malinich.  Mercury will open for a limited run this December 11-15 at Theatre Row, NYC.
