Nelia McNicol (b. Australia) is an actress, dancer and producer based in New York City. Her artistry blends her training in dance and drama, resulting in her distinctive approach to performance grounded in depth and nuance.
She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Joffrey Ballet School under the artistic direction of Angelica Stiskin, and studied the Susan Batson Method and Meisner Technique under Lil Malinich. Her one-woman show, They Called Me Rita inspired by 1940's Hollywood star Rita Hayworth made its sold-out world premiere and received critical acclaim at the United Solo Festival in Fall 2023.
Nelia is the co-founder of Verve Productions, an all female theatre company dedicated to producing bold, original contemporary plays in New York City. Verve's latest production, MERCURY by Jayson McDonald, opened at Theatre Row for a limited engagement in December 2024. MERCURY will reopen for a limited time at The Players Theatre within their artists residency program in May 2026.
